What is Lioness starring Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Jill Wagner, and others about? Here is what we know about Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s new series.

What Is Lioness About?

According to IMDb, Lioness is based on the real-life CIA program. Their job is to infiltrate a terrorist organization. However, they must do it from within. These operatives are embedded in the most dangerous of situations. They need to befriend family members of terrorists. Can they take down the group before they cause any harm or destruction?

Who Stars In Lioness?

Lioness has a growing cast that includes Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Jill Wagner, Sam Asghari, Jonah Wharton, Carla Mansour, Adam Budron, Scot Teller, Daniel Abeles, Dan Matteucci, Jordyn Rax, Ray Corasani, Dave Annable, James Jordan, LaMonica Garrett, Stephanie Our, Martin Donovan, Zach Appelman, Austin Hébert, and Marisol Correa.

We already know that Kidman is portraying CIA’s Kaitlyn Meade, the senior supervisor who has to protect the team, whilst playing politics. De Oliveira portrays newbie Marine Cruz Manuelos, who was recruited for the team.

The chief of the Lioness team is Joe, portrayed by Saldaña. Annable plays her husband, Neil.

Wagner, who co-created the series, portrays Bobby, A CIA Special Activities Division Operative. Garrett and Jordan play Tucker and Two Cups, and they are on the same team.

Freeman portrays the United States Secretary of State.

Lioness Filming Caused ‘Panic’ To Avatar Star

This is a very intense show. Saldaña told WWD, “And I’m happy. I’m so happy I did it.” She then revealed how much stress filming the Paramount+ series was.

I’m tired and every day I wake up with a lot of panic, but I do the work and I get there and every day I come home and I’m like, ‘no matter what happens, I did my best. I gave it my all and it feels good.’

When Will Taylor Sheridan’s New Series Premiere?

Lioness should premiere on Paramount+ sometime in 2023. However, they are not done filming this Taylor Sheridan series.

Firstly, there was a delay. According to Variety, that is because the original showrunner, Thomas Brady, was replaced due to creative differences. Sheridan became the showrunner for the series that he and Mystery 101 star Jill Wagner co-created.

However, because Sheridan is so busy with his Yellowstone–related projects meant they had to delay the beginning of filming Lioness for nearly three months.

In addition, according to Jill Wagner’s Instagram Stories, the plan was to finish filming the series overseas at the beginning of the year until March. She has been posting from Palma, Spain. That means filming has begun.

But, Sheridan may need some cloning, as later in January, the popular show runnier is filming the remaining episodes of Yellowstone Season 5.
